Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Professional to join our dedicated SEND department in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Southwark. As a key member of our team, you will provide personalized support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, promoting academic and emotional development.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO and the SEND team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in mainstream classes and through targeted interventions within the SEND department.
  • Assist in implementing individualized learning plans to promote student success.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working with SEN and SEMH students, ideally within a mainstream secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive, compassionate approach to meeting the unique needs of each student.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies and techniques to help students achieve their full potential.
