Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 13-18 years.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our residents. This will involve creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, promoting positive relationships, and encouraging personal growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care and support to residents, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Develop and implement activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, and stimulate learning and integration within the home.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the highest standards of care and support are maintained, and that all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, and participate in regular reviews and updates.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the home, and to provide a high level of customer service to residents and their families.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with teenagers or young adults, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or a related field, such as a Diploma in Residential Childcare or a NVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and shift work, and to be available on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
