Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Apple Orchard. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 13-18 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a caring and motivating environment that meets the individual needs of each young person.
  • Plan and prepare activities that stimulate learning and integration within the home.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, guidelines, and policies to safeguard the welfare of young people.
  • Observe and assess young people's progress, maintaining accurate records of their achievements and behavior.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, supporting young people's learning and development.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in working practices, including undertaking domestic tasks and supporting the team.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with teenage boys or challenging behavior.
  • Hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to engage young people in activities, guiding them towards independence and adulthood.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including shift work and occasional weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
