Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 13-18 years.

About the Role:

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our young residents. Your primary duties will include:

  • Creating a supportive and motivating environment that promotes the individual developmental needs of each young person.
  • Planning and preparing activities that stimulate their learning and integration within the home.
  • Maintaining accurate records of their progress, achievements, and important events in their lives.
  • Working collaboratively with local authorities and placing authorities to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with parents and carers to support the young person's learning and development.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with teenage boys or challenging behaviour.
  • A willingness to further develop your skills and qualifications.
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work a mixture of days, evenings, and weekends, including shift work.
