Academic Budget and Operations Analyst

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Academic Budget and Operations Analyst to join our team. As a key member of the Academic Affairs department, you will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing budgets, developing and maintaining employment records, and reviewing and submitting budget and spending requests.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain organizational budgets with managers, monitoring spending and ensuring the organization stays within its budget.
- Consolidate organizational budgets for review, providing data to defend budget recommendations and vetting funding requests for merit and authenticity.
- Oversee the Office of the Provost's spending, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and used according to plan.
- Maintain records and create reports, analyzing data to recommend funding for various programs and estimate future financial needs.
- Assist the Provost/Vice Provost with salary adjustments for faculty conversions.
- Review faculty credentials and workloads for compliance with university policies and accreditation.
- Serve as a resource person to units in Academic Affairs on office practices and procedures, maintaining the provost's daily signature folder.
- Three years of budget experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial system(s) such as Colleague.
- Demonstration of discretion and confidentiality in handling daily work and sensitive issues and information.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in record keeping and file management.
- Five years of budget experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.
- Knowledge of the Colleague System.
- Experience working in higher education, particularly at an HBCU or similar mission-driven institution.
