We are seeking a Research Development Manager with a strong track record in UK industry/research funding to support the growing team at Nottingham Trent University. This role will create capacity by supporting the Head of UK Industry Research Funding and leading the KTP Team.

The successful candidate will be genuinely interested in research, understand the value and challenges of multidisciplinary approaches, and the importance of delivering impact beyond academia. They will be someone who quickly assimilates new information and intelligence, proactively makes linkages between different people, projects and opportunities, and has the tenacity and organisational skills to work with our researchers and their collaborators to develop clear, detailed, coherent project proposals.

The Research Development team is part of the broader Research Strategy and Operations team (led by the Director of Research Strategy and Operations, and reporting to the PVC Research and International), which also has responsibilities across Research Governance, Policy, Pre-Award functions, as well as working closely with the Doctoral School, Research Culture and Environment team, and relevant colleagues in other Professional Service Departments such as Libraries, Finance and Communications and Marketing.

Developing highly functional relationships across Schools and Professional Service Departments is an integral part of how we work, and we strive to provide a high quality service to our academic community. We operate on a hybrid basis, with colleagues combining working across our campuses and from home. There is a focus on colleagues spending some time every week co-located with other team members, because we know the value of building relationships, sharing intelligence and ideas, and feeling part of something real.
