Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at Orange Grove Fostercare Yorkshire. This is a demanding position that includes both quality assurance and training roles for foster parents, promoting the welfare of children placed with us.

The Role
This role requires a collaborative approach with foster parents, promoting meaningful supervision of placements. You will be involved in the recruitment, training, and supervision of Foster Parents, ensuring their compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience of family placement work and foster care practice, including the assessment of potential foster parents.

Responsibilities
• Direct support of foster parents within a realistic caseload
• Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, enabling and monitoring their practice
• Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to enable full participation in assessment, planning, review, and decision making relating to safeguarding and child protection

Requirements
• Hold a Social Care England recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent
• Previous experience of family placement work and foster care practice
• Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to high-quality practice
• Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
