Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of podiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients in various settings, including clinics and patient homes.

The role involves monitoring, supervising, and delegating podiatry services, as well as mentoring students during placements. You will also be responsible for ensuring that policies, procedures, and clinical governance arrangements are in place and communicated effectively to all staff.

You will work autonomously to assess and diagnose patients with diverse medical and podiatric conditions, using diagnostic techniques, skills, and tools. This includes sharp debridement, local anaesthesia administration, nail surgery, and the use of noxious caustics.

As a Senior Podiatrist, you will develop and implement tailored treatment plans for patients with complex needs, including those in high-risk and at-risk categories. You will also recommend prescription medicines and oversee the referral of urgent cases to specialist services.

Delivering care in various settings is an essential aspect of this role, as is continually evaluating and reviewing treatment outcomes to ensure appropriate care.

A key part of the job is implementing the service discharge policy for patients who do not meet access to treatment criteria.
