About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Podiatrist to join our team as a Senior Podiatry Consultant in Offender Health. As part of Premier Physical Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare services to patients within HMP settings.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for managing your own clinical caseload, including the management of waiting lists in partnership with the HMP site.
  • Maintaining professional standards and adhering to all policies and procedures.
Clinical Responsibilities
  • You will be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients in your care.
  • Assessing capacity, gaining valid informed consent, and working within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments of patients, using investigative and analytical skills, and formulating individualized management and treatment plans.
  • Delivering a wide range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care based on patient needs and agreed management plans.
  • Providing specialist advice, teaching, and training to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintaining your own clinical professional development (CPD) by staying up to date with new trends and developments and incorporating them into your work as necessary.
  • Being an active member of the CPD training program by attending and delivering presentations, training sessions, and external courses, and practicing reflective practice.
  • Undertaking the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through Evidence-Based Practice projects, audit, and outcome measures.
  • Demonstrating a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and applying it to your work situation.
  • Representing Premier Physical Healthcare externally regarding the podiatry service provided to patients.
  • Promoting understanding of the aims of Premier Physical Healthcare to relatives and carers as appropriate.
  • Being responsible for equipment used in carrying out podiatric duties and adhering to company policy, including competence to use equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation in line with legal and company requirements and communicating assessment and treatment results to the appropriate bodies in the form of reports and letters.
  • Being actively involved in the monthly collection of data and statistics, including audits and outcome measures.
  • Being aware of Health and Safety aspects of your work and implementing any policies required to improve the safety of your work area.
  • Complying with company policies and procedures and being involved in reviewing and updating them as necessary.
Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 28 days annual leave, My Totally Rewards, Share Save Scheme, Opportunities for career development, Employee Assistance Program, and Virtual GP Services.
