At Papyrus UK, we are seeking a skilled Community Development and Engagement Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for engaging key partners and stakeholders in the region, providing support, training, and education to create suicide safer communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To identify, develop, and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers, and key partners across the region.
  • To promote suicide prevention, raising the profile of Papyrus UK and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.
  • To equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through tailored support, training, and education.
  • To deliver training and awareness-raising products to various groups, including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers, and other trainers.
  • To contribute to project development and review, as well as education and training product development, aligned with strategic plans.
  • To record, monitor, and report on data to evaluate projects and demonstrate impact.
  • To represent the charity at events, conferences, panels, working groups, and through media channels as required.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of working in community settings, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.
  • Experience in networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring approaches to meet differing needs.
  • Qualification as an ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience.
  • Ability to use initiative and creativity to develop projects, programs, or areas of work.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage diverse workloads.
  • Travel to different locations across London and the South of England to attend meetings, events, and deliver training.
