Database Administrator Role

A dynamic and forward-thinking company, Spectrum IT Recruitment, is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their growing tech team. This exciting opportunity is part of a global digital marketplace transformation project, leveraging cutting-edge technology to disrupt the industry.

As the second Database Administrator in the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management and support of SQL servers and databases, ensuring they meet high standards and support critical projects. Your expertise in design and query optimization will be crucial in achieving scalable systems, with a track record of administering, supporting, and building databases in high-stakes, production environments.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Database Design & Capacity Management
• Database Maintenance & Monitoring
• Disaster Recovery
• Performance Optimization
• Security & Compliance
• Automation & Upgrades
• Data Analysis

Required skills and experience include operating systems, such as Linux and Windows, with proficiency in MySQL, Shell, T-SQL, and PL/SQL. Cloud experience with GCP and Cloud SQL is also essential. Desirable skills include web application experience, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, and Spanner, as well as databases like Couchbase and NoSQL.
