The General Synod Office of the Scottish Episcopal Church seeks a Governance and Compliance Officer to support its boards and committees, enabling better information-sharing and decision-making. The postholder will also assist congregations across Scotland in meeting their statutory obligations regarding Data Protection and Health & Safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing secretariat support to committees with excellent administrative skills
  • Maintaining knowledge of governance and external regulatory requirements for compliance (e.g., data protection and health and safety)
  • Supporting congregations in complying with statutory obligations

This full-time role (35 hours per week) offers a competitive salary of approximately £32,000 - £40,000, depending on experience, plus benefits including a workplace pension and flexible working policy. Our office is located in Edinburgh, easily accessible via public transport, with a small car park. The post-holder is expected to work at least three days a week in the office (office days are negotiable).
