About the Role

This position is part of the Global Markets Division (MARK) of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA, within the engineering department in London. The team brings together the Equities, Fixed Income & Currencies, and Commodities structuring capabilities to provide investors with integrated multi-asset market solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and develop systematic strategies in an index format in collaboration with the relevant Business Lines, focusing on commodity underlyings.
  • Maximize profitability by designing and implementing index solutions that meet client needs and maximize returns.
  • Ensure the robustness and sustainability of the risk-return profile of the index solutions.
  • Build portfolios of systematic strategies with a specific investment objective.
  • Provide necessary information to the governance team (ISP) to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Promote the QIS offer through proactive internal and external communication, client meetings, and sales team support.
  • Provide technical support and training to sales, pricing, and trading teams to ensure seamless execution of index solutions.
Requirements
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Strong skills in quantitative finance, including knowledge of commodities as an asset class.
  • Operational skills, including regulatory knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Rigor and reliability in delivering high-quality results.
  • Responsiveness to client needs and market developments.
Education and Experience

Previous experience in quantitative investment strategies structuring is required. A graduate from a top university with a Master's degree is preferred.

Language Skills

English is the primary language of communication. French is desirable.
