About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated facilities team as a General Porter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective portering service across Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive and responsive portering service to patients, staff, visitors, and service users.
  • Undertake the movement of patients, equipment, documentation, linen, waste, and other materials in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with specifications and respond to service needs as they arise.
  • Contribute to the improvement of productivity and quality of the service.
Requirements
  • Good level of general education (basic English and maths) education.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others (both verbal and written).
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to apply and maintain standards consistently.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Customer care.
  • Health and safety and infection control principles.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Dealing with challenging behavior.
  • Understanding of medical gases.
  • Manual handling.
  • Previous experience of using a computer.
  • Knowledge of handling waste.
