Our office is located in Kirkwall, Orkney, and the successful candidate will be required to work primarily from this location, with regular travel to the field sites across the islands.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced mammal trapper to join our team in Orkney, Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the stoat eradication operation for the Orkney Native Wildlife Project, working closely with landowners and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering the stoat eradication operation for the Orkney Native Wildlife Project.
- Working closely with landowners and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Providing high-quality data and reporting to inform project decision-making.
- Contributing to the development of project plans and strategies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mammal trapping and wildlife conservation.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Able to work in extreme conditions, for prolonged periods in the field, including lone working in a variety of challenging terrains.
- Practical recording skills of a standard that provides the highest quality data.
- A full driver's licence or ability to access remote locations without public transport.
The salary for this role is estimated at £29,200 per annum, plus benefits.
