Wildlife Conservation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced mammal trapper to join our team on the Orkney Islands, working predominantly in the field. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering the stoat eradication operation for the Orkney Native Wildlife Project (ONWP).
Key Responsibilities:- Checking, cleaning, and rebaiting DOC200 kill traps across a network of over 7,000 traps.
- Trap deployment and removal.
- Capturing and recording trap data into a database.
- Assisting with stoat monitoring.
- Understanding of invasive non-native species management.
- Able to work in extreme conditions, including lone working in challenging terrains.
- Practical recording skills and identification field skills.
- Full driver's licence or ability to access remote locations without public transport.
Estimated salary: £29,200 per annum.
