Bereavement Lead Midwife Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Bereavement Lead Midwife to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality care to bereaved women and their families.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading and working within the team to deliver personalized care to bereaved women and their families.

The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of the National bereavement pathway and be prepared to engage with bereaved families, undertaking clinical working and teaching as required.

This is a part-time role that offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

  • Act as a clinical specialist providing verbal and written information to bereaved families.
  • Enable the bereaved to access their entitlements by liaising with outside agencies.
  • Be a resource for medical, nursing, and midwifery staff on physical, psychological, and administrative aspects of bereavement care.
  • Support and teach staff in formal and informal settings on all aspects of pregnancy-associated bereavement care.
  • Be aware of research and best practice in bereavement and identify through audit and other means areas for improvement in bereavement care.
