**Job Title:** Lead English Curriculum Specialist

Academics in Colchester is seeking an experienced Senior English Teacher to join our team as a Lead English Curriculum Specialist. This role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

The Role:

This full-time position will involve leading the planning and delivery of the English curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will work closely with the Head of Department to shape the vision and direction of English at Academics. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching members of the English team, ensuring high-quality outcomes for all students, and contributing to strategic goals.

  • Assist in developing and delivering engaging lesson plans for KS3, KS4, and KS5 English classes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  • Support the department's leadership in shaping the school's literacy initiatives and student progress monitoring.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A proven track record of success in teaching English at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong understanding of the UK English curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
