Performance Improvement Manager

Network Rail is seeking a highly skilled Performance Improvement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the performance improvement process, including the production of robust and quantifiable performance plans. They will also manage the key responsibilities in contributing to the company business plans and record all aspects of performance improvement within the various Network Rail functions.

About the role

The Performance Improvement Manager will be involved in the following activities:

1. Manage the performance improvement team and coordinate the performance improvement coordinators in the route to support the delivery of performance improvements plans, tracked as necessary by performance tracking systems.

2. Manage the route Performance Improvement Process as set out in the Performance Manual. Liaise with internal and external parties to bring about KPI improvements by facilitating action plans and other initiatives.

3. Liaise and build relationships with all key internal and external industry partners to develop an overview of performance improvement activities and measure the effects of these schemes, providing advice on priorities as necessary.

4. Take the lead role in the promotion and use of Six Sigma and other performance improvement tools.

5. Development and management of the FRA, JPIP and Control Period processes with all industry parties in the route.

6. To manage and deliver high quality and innovative train performance analysis, reports and projects to support performance management both within Network Rail and across the industry.

7. Collate and produce the industry performance measures and KPIs as required by our stakeholders.

8. Analyse existing performance trends at national and local level to understand explanatory variables and identify corrective actions. Provide statistically based forecasts of performance, as required by the company, train operators and others.

9. To support in the development and leading programmes of work to drive improvement in performance analysis across the business.

Requirements

• Knowledge of building performance improvement plans and their delivery

• Good knowledge of operational railway environment

• Good analytical skills

• Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills

• Project Management Skills
