About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to contribute to an ongoing research project involving ES cell culture and CRISPR screening. The successful candidate will plan and execute experimental work, compile data, and develop strategies for project advancement. Key responsibilities include performing CRISPR-mediated knockout and knockdown validations, CUT&Tag/CUT&Run, RNAseq, lentiviral transduction, FACS sorting, DNA isolation, and PCR.
About You
Applicants should possess a BSc in a relevant bioscience field, be self-driven, and willing to learn new skills. Essential skills include hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture. Technical expertise and statistical analysis skills in cell and molecular biology are advantageous. Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills are also essential. The Blizard Institute is a leading research institution within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. The post is based at our Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full-time, fixed-term post for 6 months, with an expected start date of July 2024. The starting salary will be on the Junior Research Training Zone, Grade 4, £36,572 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
