Job Title: HR Advisor

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in providing commercially focused HR advice to our Branch Directors and Central Support Managers, ensuring they have the support they need to manage the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex ER workload, providing advice on a range of topics including Grievance, Disciplinary, Settlement, Structuring, and Redundancy.
  • Coach and guide managers on all aspects of people management, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage their teams.
  • Work closely with our Occupational Health providers to coordinate baseline health checks, refer employees for assessments, and conduct regular reviews.
  • Manage external whistleblowing services, investigating or allocating cases as appropriate.
  • Manage long-term sickness cases, ensuring individual cases progress as appropriate.
  • Participate in HR projects, working closely with the HR Manager and wider HR team.

Requirements:

  • CIPD qualified to level 5 minimum or equivalent.
  • Experience managing a range of ER queries with little support or assistance.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment law and the ability to interpret and apply to a variety of situations.
  • Experience of managing projects.
