Purchase Ledger Clerk

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and credit notes.
Key Responsibilities:- Invoice Processing: Post purchase invoices and credit notes onto the company's accounting system, matching them to purchase orders and ensuring accurate coding.
- Supplier Communication: Communicate with suppliers via email and phone to resolve any queries or discrepancies.
- Reconciliation: Run monthly invoice on hold reports and resolve internal queries raised as part of the invoice on hold process.
- Statement Reconciliation: Ensure supplier statement reconciliations are up to date on a monthly basis and resolve any queries.
- Filing and Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger filing and ensure all relevant documentation is in order.
- CIS Compliance: Ensure the company is compliant with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and prepare and submit CIS returns as required.
- Supplier Management: Set up new suppliers following the company's approval process and maintain the supplier database.
- Reporting: Prepare payment practices reports and retention releases for review by senior management.
- System Implementation: Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems and processes.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as required by the finance team.
- Experience: Practical experience of working in a purchase ledger environment.
- CIS Knowledge: Working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme.
- Technical Skills: Strong capability in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word and Excel.
