Job Summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a forward-thinking company based in the East Riding region. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for processing purchase ledger invoices, resolving related queries, and providing support to divisional accountants and cash book functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase ledger invoices and credit notes onto Oracle, ensuring accurate matching to Purchase Orders.
  • Direct code invoices as required, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate with suppliers via phone and email to resolve all queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Run monthly invoice on hold reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Resolve internal queries raised as part of the invoice on hold process, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure supplier statement reconciliations are up to date on a monthly basis, resolving any queries or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Purchase Ledger filing, ensuring easy access to relevant information.
  • Monitor shared accounts email inbox, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Run and submit CIS returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Set up new suppliers following the approval process, ensuring accurate and efficient onboarding.
  • Prepare payment practices reports, providing valuable insights into company finances.
  • Prepare retention releases for FC/FD review, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Maintain the supplier database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist in the implementation of the new ERP system, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to business operations.

Requirements

  • Practical experience of working in a purchase ledger environment, with a strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
  • A strong capability in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word and Excel.
