Lead Payroll Professional

We are seeking a skilled Lead Payroll Professional to join our team at Teledyne FLIR LLC. This role offers an attractive compensation package, estimated at $90,000 - $140,000 annually, along with opportunities for growth and development.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Teledyne UK Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments for approximately 1450 employees. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage the payroll team and coordinate with various departments within the company.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee and manage the employee payment process for salaries paid to UK employees, as well as one Malaysian and one French employee.
  • Manage the process to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, minimizing the risk of financial penalties.
  • Ensure all pension contributions are paid and reported according to legislation.
  • Collaborate with the pension provider on implementing SMARTEnrol.
  • Manage payrolling benefits, including CCV, C2W, electric vehicles, and healthcare.
  • Liaise with ADP on National Minimum Wage checks based on worker category.
  • Liaise with ADP on Average Rate of Pay.
  • Work with KPMG on preparing reporting under Appendix 4.
  • Interface with various payroll-related service vendors to resolve problems and address operational issues.
  • Prepare and report the PSA.
  • Point of escalation for queries and complaints.
  • Manage relationships with ADP and iHCM services.

Business Operations and Continuous Improvement

  • Work with Finance on internal, external, and SOX audits.
  • Ensure journals are processed for payroll and relevant accruals.
  • Utilize OneStream to reconcile payroll control accounts.

Project Management and Process Enhancement

  • Participate in the Global T&A project to implement ADP Workforce Manager, transitioning from ADP Self-Serve by October 2024.
  • Continuously review and influence processes to drive positive change within the payroll function.
  • Implement Service Levels and Key Performance Indicators to measure success.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to implement Aged Debtors for managing overpayments.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in Payroll Management and staff management at both individual and team levels.
  • CIPP Qualified (Level 5 minimum) and Member of the CIPP.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll software and applications.
  • Understanding and execution of change management principles and systems integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional certifications, such as CIPP, would be advantageous.
