Job Title: Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates Graduate Placements.

About the Role:

As a Graduate Mechanical/Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and designing products and prototypes using SolidWorks, creating detailed drawings for manufacture and assembly, and preparing Bills of Materials, exploded drawings, and manuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop products and prototypes to improve existing products and create new ones.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets manufacturing and assembly requirements.
  3. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including Bills of Materials and exploded drawings.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in mechanical design and product development.
  5. Contribute to the development of new products and processes, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Strong skills in SolidWorks and other design software.
  3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  4. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  5. Experience in manufacturing techniques, including sheet metal and machining, is an advantage.
