Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Psycho-Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. You will also contribute to research and audit activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and psychological needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Contribute to research and audit activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare teams on mental health and psycho-oncology topics
  • Collaborate with the clinical lead and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Post-registration experience in acute care for adult psychiatric nursing, including risk assessments
  • Experience in liaison psychiatry or a relevant clinical specialty involving serious physical illness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Intermediate IT skills, with the ability to analyze data and provide written reports
