Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Psycho-Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. You will also contribute to research and audit activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and psychological needs
  • Develop and implement care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to research and audit activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing colleagues, promoting best practice and evidence-based care
  • Monitor and report on patient outcomes, contributing to the development of policies and procedures
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
  • Post-registration experience in acute care for adult psychiatric nursing
  • Experience of working at a senior clinical level, with a strong understanding of mental health legislation and policy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions
