Job Title: LBTQ Women's Substance Support Outreach Worker

Birmingham LGBT is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join our Substance Support team. The successful candidate will work with LBTQ women in Birmingham, providing support and guidance to help them overcome substance misuse issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with and support LBTQ women in Birmingham, identifying and addressing substance misuse issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the Substance Support team to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Provide outreach services from the Birmingham LGBT Centre and in off-site locations, ensuring accessibility and convenience for service users.
  • Accountable to the Lead Development Officer, Substance Support Service.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly LBTQ individuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with service users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse issues and their impact on LBTQ communities.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary: £24,666 per annum (pro rata) - 18.5 hours per week.
  • Up to 5% matched pension contributions.
  • 25 days annual leave per annum (pro rata) plus bank holidays.
  • Permanent contract.
