Job Title: Resident Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our Residency Team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Resident Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing clinical and operational pharmaceutical services to our hospital.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in each 4-month rotation as per the rotas and complete competencies and objectives for each section as defined.
  • Provide an out-of-hours resident pharmacy service on a rostered basis.
  • Contribute to the production of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the appropriate section.
  • Maintain high quality of data input of patient information into the pharmacy computer system in order to ensure excellent labelling standards for dispensed medicine.
  • Monitor patients for potential and actual adverse effects of their medicine.
  • Initiate drug recalls of defective or clinically inappropriate medicines, according to the local procedure in response to the MHRA, in order to safeguard patient care.
Requirements:
  • Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy (+ completion of pre-registration training).
  • Pre-registration training providing supervised experience in hospital pharmacy in line with professional regulation requirements.
  • Use of pharmacy computer systems for stock control and labelling.
  • Experience of using pharmacy stock control management programmes, preferably WellSky.
  • Word processing, spreadsheets, email, accurate data entry skills.
Personal Qualities:
  • Mature and positive approach to on call, late, shift and weekend work.
