Job Overview

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior pharmacists, providing guidance and support in their development.
  • Contribute to the clinical screening of TTOs and outpatient prescriptions, ensuring compliance with best practice and medicines legislation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the role of rotational pharmacists in the dispensary.
  • Ensure the safe and secure management of controlled drugs in the dispensary.
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, and bank holiday duties as required.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess a Taught Masters Degree in Pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist. A Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent is desirable, as is membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and independent prescriber qualification.

Experience in providing a clinical service and dispensary experience is essential, as is knowledge of current issues and up-to-date pharmacy practice. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is also essential.
