Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Band 7 Pharmacist, you will play a key role in developing and supporting our dispensary services. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead Operational Pharmacist to ensure the smooth functioning of our dispensary, procurement, and distribution processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior pharmacists, providing guidance and support in their development.
  • Contribute to the clinical screening of TTOs and outpatient prescriptions, ensuring compliance with best practice and medicines legislation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the role of rotational pharmacists in the dispensary.
  • Ensure the safe and secure management of controlled drugs in the dispensary.
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, and bank holiday duties as required.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess a Taught Masters Degree in Pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist. A Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent is desirable, as is membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and independent prescriber qualification.

Experience in providing a clinical service and dispensary experience is essential, as is knowledge of current issues and up-to-date pharmacy practice. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is also essential.
