Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a Band 7 Pharmacist, you will play a key role in developing and supporting the services provided by the Dispensary and Operational team. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead Operational Pharmacist to ensure the effective functioning of the Dispensary, Procurement, and Distribution.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can work effectively as part of a team and motivate others. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital pharmacy services, with experience in providing a clinical service and dispensary experience.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Act as a role model to all technical and support staff working in the Dispensary Team and gain experience in mentoring and supervising Junior Pharmacists rotating through the Dispensary.
  • To clinically screen TTOs and Outpatient prescriptions as required.
  • To develop the role of the rotational Pharmacists in the dispensary.
  • To ensure the dispensary's compliance with best practice and medicines legislation.
  • To ensure the safe and secure management of controlled drugs in the Dispensary.
  • To participate in on call, weekend, Bank Holiday and late duties as per the rota.
