About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and non-judgmental individual to join our team as a Peer Worker. As a Peer Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the practical needs and wellbeing of residents in our supported housing scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support to residents, drawing upon your own personal experiences of recovery from mental ill health and drug/alcohol issues.
  • Help residents develop coping skills and promote their understanding of recovery-focused support and trauma-informed practice.
  • Motivate and build rapport with residents, sharing your personal experiences to support their recovery journey.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including advice and assistance on independent life skills and 'moving on'.
  • Research and identify activities to support residents' wellbeing and be willing to undertake specialist peer support training.
Requirements
  • Knowledgeable of the principles of recovery-focused support and/or trauma-informed practice.
  • Able to assist people who have mental health and drug/alcohol issues and develop their own recovery plan.
  • Able to motivate, build rapport, and share personal experience.
  • Able to provide excellent customer service, including advice and assistance on independent life skills and 'moving on'.
  • Able to research, identify, promote, and execute activities to support an individual's wellbeing.
