Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a young child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream primary school in South London. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure the child's individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a child with ASD, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and able to engage in learning.
- Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, social interaction, and academic progress.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the child's individual needs are met.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing environment, encouraging independence and self-confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build a trusting relationship with the child and adapt to their unique needs.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring every child can thrive in the classroom.
