Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Co-op Academies Trust. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to overcome their barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with SEND in a whole-class, specific cohort, or one-to-one basis, both in and outside of the learning space.
  • Work in partnership with and under the direction of our class teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Support students with a wide range of abilities and needs, including specific learning needs, engagement issues, and challenges with social, emotional, and mental health.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support strategies to meet the needs of students with SEND.
Requirements
  • High-level emotional maturity and resilience to adapt to changing priorities and challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of SEND policies and procedures, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience of working with students with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
