Science Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

We are excited to offer a full-time Science Graduate Teaching Assistant position in a supportive secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. This role is ideal for Science graduates looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment, whether you are considering a career in teaching or simply looking to apply your subject knowledge in a practical setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students in Science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and ensure learning materials are engaging and accessible to all students
  • Support students with practical work in the Science labs, ensuring safety protocols are followed and helping to explain complex scientific concepts
  • Offer intervention sessions for students who require extra help in preparing for their Science GCSEs
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to ensure students are on track to achieve their target grades
  • Assist with behaviour management within the classroom to create a productive and positive learning environment
  • Encourage students to develop a passion for Science and a deeper understanding of the subject matter
  • Contribute to the development of Science-related projects, experiments, and learning activities to enrich the students' learning experience
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
  • A passion for Science and a strong interest in supporting students in their academic progress
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain scientific concepts in a clear and accessible manner
  • A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to working with students of all abilities
Benefits:
  • Full-time position in a supportive secondary school with a dedicated Science department
  • Weekly pay between £419.25 and £500, based on experience and qualifications
