Marine Crew Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Personnel Coordinator to join our team at Northern Marine. As a key member of our crewing department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our seafarers and ensuring the smooth operation of our crewing services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide effective communication and support to seafarers, ensuring all queries are managed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support and participate in regular internal and client audits to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and industry best practices.
- Liaise with the Marine Personnel Specialist to ensure effective crew changes in line with client requirements.
- Manage and coordinate all office visits of seafarers, including de-briefs and appraisals.
- Coordinate the crew induction process for new joiners and offboarding process for leavers.
- Support the Marine Personnel Specialist and Personnel team with disciplinary matters, review of external manning agents, and ensuring KPIs/SLAs are being met.
- Manage and coordinate payroll matters for seafarers, liaising with colleagues in our global offices to ensure prompt and accurate payment.
- Monitor and analyse training plans in line with company matrix requirements, ensuring all crews are competent and up to date with the latest regulations and best practices.
- Support the delivery and communication of STCW training to seafarers.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of ISM, STCW, and MLC requirements.
- Broad experience in a marine crewing role supporting and managing a large pool of global seafarers.
- Demonstrable experience managing first-line crewing demands, including problem resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and industry best practice.
- Understanding and knowledge of offshore crewing practice, including demonstrated experience managing casework on board.
- Understanding and in-depth knowledge of ISM code, MLC, and STCW.
- Awareness and knowledge of crew managing systems, including COMPAS.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and ISO standards relating to crew management.
- Proficient in all MS office packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- University Degree, preferably in HR or General Business.
- Previous experience working within a seagoing HR team for a ship management company.
- Shipping HR related legislation; STCW, MLC.
