Job Title: Development Machinist

Job Summary:

Renishaw is seeking a highly skilled Development Machinist to join our NPI Team at Stonehouse. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality Injection Mould Tooling, Fixtures, and Machined Parts to support our plastics manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture Injection Mould Tool components with precision and accuracy, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for tooling and fixture design, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with production engineers to ensure seamless integration of new parts and processes.
  • Design and manufacture fixtures to aid in the production of Injection Mould Tools, utilizing NX CAD software.
  • Support the development of in-house processes, tooling, and DFM guidance to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Contribute to the CNC program and manufacture of Vacuum Form Tools for the Packaging Team.
  • Assist in tool repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal tool performance.

Requirements:

  • HNC (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field.
  • Expert knowledge of CNC manufacturing and manual/automated CMM inspection.
  • Strong understanding of CAM systems and cutting tool selection.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of computer literacy.
  • Practical assembly skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Mould Tool manufacture.
  • Broad knowledge of alternative manufacturing processes.
  • Practical experience in injection Mould Tool construction and assembly.
  • Understanding of the Injection Moulding process.
  • Experience with NX CAD/CAM Systems.

They will possess a meticulous approach to work and a high level of attention to detail. The successful applicant will be able to confidently discuss design options and their influence on part manufacture.
