Job Description

Renishaw is seeking a skilled Development Machinist to join the NPI Team at Stonehouse. This role involves manufacturing Injection Mould Tooling, Fixtures, and Machined Parts to support the plastics manufacturing team.

The position is for a double day shift working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture high-quality Injection Mould Tool components, adhering to project timescales, including drawing interpretation, process development, NC program creation using NX CAM, tool selection, and fixture design and manufacture.
  • Inspect components using measuring equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines and on-machine verification.
  • Liaise with production engineers from the early stages of new part development.
  • Develop in-house processes, tooling, and DFM guidance.
  • Design fixtures to aid Injection Mould Tool manufacture using NX CAD software.
  • Support current production processes and tooling for tool repairs.

Requirements

  • HNC (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Knowledge of manual and automated CMM inspection.
  • Expert CNC manufacturing knowledge.
  • Broad CAM system knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Practical assembly skills.
  • Cutting tool selection knowledge for complex 3D geometries.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous Mould Tool manufacture experience.
  • Broad knowledge of alternative manufacturing processes.
  • Practical injection Mould Tool construction and assembly experience.
  • Understanding of the Injection Moulding process.
  • NX CAD/CAM Systems experience.

Person Specification

The successful applicant will be a highly organised self-starter with a meticulous approach to work and a high level of attention to detail. They will possess excellent team-working skills and be able to confidently discuss design options and their influence on part manufacture.
