Job Title: Development Machinist

Job Summary:

Renishaw is seeking a highly skilled Development Machinist to join our NPI Team at Stonehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing Injection Mould Tooling, Fixtures, and Machined Parts to support our plastics manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture high-quality Injection Mould Tool components, delivered in line with project timescales.
  • Inspect components using a range of measuring equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines and on-machine verification.
  • Liaise with production engineers from the early stages of new part development.
  • Develop in-house processes, tooling, and DFM guidance.
  • Design fixtures to aid the manufacture of Injection Mould Tools using NX CAD software.
  • Support current production processes and tooling for tool repairs.

Requirements:

  • HNC (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Knowledge of manual and automated CMM inspection.
  • Expert knowledge of CNC manufacturing.
  • Broad knowledge of CAM systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • High level of practical assembly skills.
  • Practical knowledge of cutting tool selection.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience of Mould Tool manufacture.
  • Broad knowledge of alternative manufacturing processes.
  • Practical experience of injection Mould Tool construction and assembly.
  • Understanding of the Injection Moulding process.
  • Experience of NX CAD/CAM Systems.

Person Specification:

The successful applicant will be a highly organised self-starter with a meticulous approach to work and a high level of attention to detail. They will possess excellent team-working skills and be able to confidently discuss design options and their influence on part manufacture.
