About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant to join our team at Aviva, working in our income protection claims department based in Eastleigh.

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, you will be responsible for coaching and advising our claims case managers on absence management techniques, appropriate treatment pathways, and suitable workplace accommodations for various physical and mental health conditions.

You will identify potential obstacles within a return-to-work process and advise on appropriate interventions and return-to-work plans to overcome such barriers, taking into account the Equality Act and balancing the needs of our customers and the commercial implications of each claim.

In some cases, you will take ownership of more complex cases to ensure a supportive return-to-work process for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem-solving and data analysis to identify trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate on multiple IT platforms and adapt to a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Vocational rehabilitation qualification or association membership
  • Previous experience in a corporate and/or insurance setting
