We are currently recruiting for an experienced Automation Controls Specialist to join our team at Tarmac. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PLC hardware and software, including programming languages such as ladder logic.

The Automation Controls Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining our site programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. This will involve troubleshooting issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring seamless operation of automated systems and project engineering work.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering large scale CAPEX projects and managing large budgets. They will also be responsible for assisting the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts.

The Automation Controls Specialist will also be involved in maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensuring all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have a BEng or MEng in a related discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. They will also have experience with industrial control systems and automation standards, including PLC programming, ladder logic, SCADA, HMI Design, Electrical Circuit Design, Automation Systems and Industrial Networking.
