Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure operational resources are applied efficiently and effectively to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure team members follow manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to 5S practices at all times.
  • Conduct work stream improvements in a well-defined and safe manner.
  • Track, monitor, and record all workstream activities accurately.
  • Support lean manufacturing practices within the company.
  • Support and monitor the performance facility (TPM) program.
  • Apply PDP performance review for first reports (6 monthly).
  • Support the productivity improvements program.
  • Establish and maintain the (SMED) program to minimise product changeover times.
  • Lead and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation (new work streams).
  • Deploy technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects.
  • Liaise with the safety department to ensure risk assessments for all processes.
  • Support the coordination of the project management office (PMO).
  • Lead and support project engagement.
  • Support the visual management program.
  • Ensure budget adherence.
  • Ensure KPIs adherence.
  • Support new ideas and employee recognition schemes.
  • Manage daily operations and support the team to achieve success.
  • Monitor operational tasks and ensure good performance recording data on appropriate systems.
  • Promote high standards through personal example and ensure the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
  • Lead daily cross-functional meetings.
  • Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan via weekly briefings.
  • Work with all functions/departments to define processes/procedures/controls for operational activities.
  • Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the company.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments.
  • Feedback to management to share ideas to improve operations and implement continuous improvement work stream improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, leading group activities to drive improvement ideas.
  • Experience assisting and developing (multi-skilled) people.
  • Strong PC skills and experience with packages such as Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and recognised QC tools.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including ISO14001 and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Quality standard TS16949.
