Job Summary:

The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Directorate Manager to enhance the management structure within the General Internal Medicine Directorate. The post holder will provide operational and business leadership to the Directorate, working closely with the Clinical Director and Matrons.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational management leadership for the Directorate, ensuring that the Directorate and its services meet their quality, activity, and financial targets.
  • Work with the Clinical Director, Director of Operations, Divisional Director, and Matrons to assist in the planning, objective-setting, and change management within the Directorate and the Division.
  • Proactively engage in service transformation and development, responding to changing environments and working with commissioning colleagues to ensure that the service is fit for purpose and meets the changing needs of the population.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience at a senior management level in an acute setting, with a proven record of pro-active management to achieve key performance targets.
  • Demonstrable experience of service redesign, business planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Track record of effective financial management, including delivery of efficiency savings, income, and expenditure targets.
  • Ability to analyse issues and make judgements on a wide range of general management subjects, including finance, HR, quality, environment, and external issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to make effective formal presentations and informal approaches to a wide range of audiences.
