Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Specialist to join our award-winning team in Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, providing leadership and supervision to other team members, and collaborating with key partners to address identified public health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to promote the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to other team members, ensuring appropriate delegation and adherence to Somerset Local Authority policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with key partners to address identified public health needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of children and families.
  • Contribute to multi-agency early support assessments of children and families, taking on a lead professional role where appropriate.
Requirements
  • A relevant SCPHN qualification and an interest in holistically addressing the health needs of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
  • Experience of working in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
