Mental Health Support Specialist

At the University of Northampton, we are committed to supporting students' mental health and wellbeing. We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Counselling and Mental Health Team as a Mental Health Support Specialist. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality services to support students in managing their mental health, assessing and recommending reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local mental health services and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also be expected to deliver staff training and support mental health promotion activities. Our team members are supportive of their colleagues, adaptable, and self-motivated.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on national averages for similar roles in the Higher Education sector. However, please note that salaries can vary depending on location and employer.
The successful candidate will be working within the Library, Learning and Student Services Department, which is part of the larger University of Northampton community.
