In-House Legal Advisor for Construction and Contracts Management

We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Legal Counsel to become an integral part of our team as a Contracts Manager.

This position is perfect for a legal expert who is enthusiastic about leveraging their knowledge in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.

Our comprehensive services include claims management, risk assessment, underwriting, and both financial and regulatory support.

Position Overview

As a Contracts Manager, you will be essential in evaluating appointment documents and negotiating necessary amendments. You will collaborate with a seasoned team of solicitors and legal executives committed to assisting our clients in securing appointments that align with their coverage requirements. Additionally, you will manage negotiations that stem from these appointments.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing members' appointment documents and associated materials to provide insights on coverage positions, suggesting essential amendments to ensure compliance with coverage parameters, negotiating changes with clients and their advisors as needed, participating in meetings to clarify coverage issues, and delivering informative presentations on coverage-related subjects.

You will also be tasked with reviewing and negotiating a wide array of contractual documents with clients, subcontractors, and consultants related to Construction Law, including collateral warranties, framework agreements, joint venture agreements, NEC, and FIDIC contracts, among others.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in non-contentious construction law, acquired through a law firm or an in-house legal department.
  • Understanding of professional indemnity issues concerning construction professionals.
  • 1-8 PQE - UK Qualified.
