In-House Legal Advisor for Construction | London

We are looking for a skilled Construction Legal Counsel to join our team as a Contracts Manager.

This position is perfect for a legal expert who is enthusiastic about leveraging their knowledge in a vibrant and cooperative setting.

Position Overview

As a Contracts Manager, you will be instrumental in evaluating appointment documents and negotiating necessary modifications. You will collaborate with a large team of seasoned solicitors and legal executives committed to assisting our members in securing appointments that align with their coverage requirements. Additionally, you will manage negotiations stemming from these appointments.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing members' appointment documents and associated materials to provide insights on coverage positions, suggesting essential amendments to ensure compliance with coverage parameters, negotiating changes with members' clients and/or their advisors as needed, participating in meetings with members to clarify coverage issues, and delivering presentations on coverage-related subjects.

You will also review and negotiate a wide array of contractual documents with clients, subcontractors, and consultants pertaining to Construction Law, including collateral warranties, framework agreements, joint venture agreements, NEC, and FIDIC contracts, among others.

Qualifications

  • Experience in non-contentious construction law, acquired from a law firm or an in-house legal department.
  • Knowledge of professional indemnity issues related to construction professionals.
  • 1-8 PQE - UK Qualified
