About the RoleWe are seeking a part-time Health and Safety Advisor to join our small office team in Epsom. As a member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (ISOH), you will have a NEBOSH diploma and prior experience in health and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Promote health and safety best practices to encourage continual improvement and reporting of near-miss situations.
- Develop and implement RAM statements.
- Support visits by external regulatory bodies, such as the UK Health and Safety Executive, as required.
- Maintain the company's health and safety policy and procedures across all sites, including the warehouse.
- Design and deliver training sessions to meet employee training needs.
- Support managers in maintaining safe systems of work and implementing best practice, including providing specialist advice and practical support.
- Prepare and conduct risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Establish and maintain health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and COSHH.
- Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems and procedures, and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate fire safety processes to ensure legal compliance, including evacuation procedures and fire prevention training.
- Ensure compliance with DSE requirements.
- Assist with accident investigations and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence, including keeping written records.
- Computer literacy with good user knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret health and safety legislation and produce written policy.
- Ability to design and deliver training.
- Excellent oral communication skills, including presentation and training experience.
