Hereford, Herefordshire, United Kingdom Lifelancer Full time
Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding Department at Wye Valley NHS Trust for a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Clinical Coding Team Leader, Band 6.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced coder to gain useful experience in a junior management role while still retaining their own clinical coding workload. There will also be the opportunity to expand their direction if they have an interest in either clinical coding auditing or training.

The role will involve responsibilities for mentoring and training of brand new coders, day-to-day supervision of the coding team alongside another team leader, and ensuring all monthly mandated coding deadlines are met. You will also be supporting the Clinical Coding Manager to ensure effective service delivery for coding.

This is a vacancy with a difference as we are looking for an applicant who will enjoy the opportunity and challenge to progress with their Clinical Coding career and develop their skills, either managerially or through audit or training. Support will be provided to enable this to be achieved, with both financial and allocated study time.

About the Role
  • Main area of responsibility is for the supervision of the Clinical Coding Team, ensuring all agreed national and local timescales are met.
  • Provide own high-quality and timely coded data.
  • Provide training and mentorship to the clinical coding team members, where checking, validating, and informal auditing may be necessary.
